Saturday Night
House moving day was exciting!
Doug and Katie arrived!
And the work is underway!
Doug and I spent the day working in the house, mostly trying to deconstruct the old piano that came with the house. My plan is to turn the wooden part into a bookcase or desk so we pulled out the keys and strings (harp). There is also a cast iron frame that we need to remove. We don't have the perfect tools for the job so it makes for hard work.
Katie worked on removing and cleaning some of the old green "tiles" that I hope to recycle into the new plan. Doug also took out the peninsula and I may repurpose it as well.
My contractor came by today and staked out the house; footers go in on Monday with inspection on Tuesday!
Demolition of the old drywall may start next week too. Once the house is on the foundation, I'm sure the new roof will follow.
I love all the progress and I'm so grateful to Doug and Katie for their help.
